Do you really want to see God's glory??

I think sometimes Christians don't really realize what they are truly saying with the words they sing in many worship songs. Don't get me wrong.....I'm a huge sucker for some awesome praise and worship music. I love it. I need it. When it comes to songs about the glory of God and wanting to see it and be in it, I think we unintentionally don't realize the magnitude of what we are saying.

We can't see His glory. We can't stand in the midst of it. It would kill us. As long as we are here on this Earth in our imperfect, not-yet-glorified bodies, we could never survive a second in the brilliant glory of God. Remember the incident with Moses in Exodus 33 on Mt. Sinai? Moses asked to see God's glory. God couldn't show Moses His face because it would kill him. Instead, He had Moses stand behind a rock while God passed by the rock with His backside facing Moses. When Moses returned from the mountain back to the Israelites, they saw that the skin of his face glowed. It actually glowed! This is just from an encounter of God's backside while standing behind a rock!

One day, whether through physical death or the return of Christ, we will be in heaven with our new bodies standing before the face of God worshipping and perfect fellowship. What a day that will be!
